Power of Mentorship

Hi guys, today I just want to share about having a mentor and being mentored. People take this issue lightly and some do not even know what a mentor is.

Mentor is someone who is guides, counsel, support, lead, shepherd, show ,tutor you spiritually, economically or any other way.

A mentor may be an older or younger than the person being mentored, but he or she must have a certain area of expertise. It is a learning and development partnership between someone with vast experience and someone who wants to learn.

It is important to have a mentor. A mentor will always challenge you in every way. If you are under mentorship, you change the way you do things because you are under guidance, you even change the way you think.

Mentorship is a relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person.

Mentoring is a process of informal transmission of knowledge, social capital, and the psychosocial support perceived by the recipient as relevant to work, career, professional development or spiritual development; mentoring entails informal communication, usually face-to-face and during a sustained period of time, between a person who is perceived to have greater relevant knowledge, wisdom, or experience (the mentor) and a person who is perceived to have less.

I have three mentors and they have really helped me grow. I am where I am because of my mentors. When I’m in trouble or felling alone,I run to them and they always correct and guide me. Through mentorship, you can mature in every situation even the way you make decisions can change you will always think what will my mentor say.

Your friend cannot really be your mentor because of the friendship you share. In a mentoring situation, one person has the advantage in some way, usually with their age and experience level. A mentor has already been through the same situations you are currently dealing with, and they share their wisdom based on the things they have experienced. Mentors help you at work, assist you in life choices, and gently guide you as you pursue your goals. Mentoring relationships are what we should invest in because they build you.

The best way to invest in yourself right now is by getting a mentor……………..
